Scientific Graphics
As a part of my work as a researcher, I regularly create scientific figures or graphics for presentations, papers, or posters. My main tools are generally 2D vector art (Inkscape) and 3D modeling (Blender), though I also hand draw some images every now and again (see #SketchYourScience below). For more illustrations, please see: Jfeatherstone/science-art!
Alongside my own research, I work as a scientific illustrator for my institute's Media Relations Section. You can see my work featured in some of their press releases, ranging from explanatory diagrams to eye-catching header/cover images!
Sketches
#SketchYourScience is an initiative from AGU lead by Irene Crisologo and Mj Riches encouraging scientists to take a creative approach to scientific communication through cute sketches and drawings!
Many of the images on this site are inspired by this initiative, and a more complete collection of my sketches can be found in this repo: Jfeatherstone/sketch-your-science.
